Roland Connect September 2010

Over at Roland Connect, they announced the launch of a bunch of new gear which will be available in the UK over the next month or two.

For guitarists, Roland has updated their popular cube amplifier range which are now branded as XL. The entry level CUBE-15XL is small and portable but delivers big tone. Its bigger brother, the CUBE-20XL, features the same effects and amp modeling capabilities. The fully featured, CUBE-40XL has 40W of power and is the first amplifier in range to be footswitchable and features a 80 second phrase looper. Finally, the range is topped off with the stage ready CUBE-80XL amplifier.

Boss have added to their range of compact effect pedals, with the Boss PS-6 and ST-2. The PS-6 harmonist is a fully loaded pitch shifting effects pedal featuring pitch shifting, harmony and detune. The Boss ST-2 Power Stack guitar distortion pedal produces a sound reminiscent of coveted tube amps, going from a fat crunch to ultra high-gain distortion.

If you’re a Roland GAIA SH-01 users then GAIA Synthesizer Sound Designer software lets you directly access all of the tone parameters via Mac or PC on the computer’s large display. The friendly user interface makes creating GAIA sounds fast and easy. It’s also ideal way for GAIA users to learn the instrument in an inviting graphical format.

Also on the keyboard size, the Roland AX Synth is now available in black. The Juno-G Synth has now been replaced with Juno-GI Synth Workstation. Supercharged with a massive 1300 fresh new sounds, Juno-GI also features and 8 track recorder and pro quality effects from Boss.

Roland has released a new flagship stage piano as the RD-700NX. The RD-700NX raises the bar for on-stage performance, featuring incredible sound, touch and control. The Roland FP-7F Stage piano is available in black or white features the same Supernatural Piano and PHA III action at a more budget price.

Finally, the Roland Octa-Capture UA-1010 is a new USB 2.0 Audio interface featuring 8 premium mic preamps. It comes bundled with Cakewalk Production Pro but is also compatible with all major Mac and Windows based DAWs.
